Broward Courts to Begin Normal Business Operations


It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former judge Frank A. Orlando. He served the Seventeenth Circuit bench for more than 20 years and retired in 1988.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale. The church is located at 301 E. Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. A reception will follow the service in the church’s adjoining Event Center. The event will also be live streamed for those choosing to attend virtually.
His son, Michael Orlando is a current judge serving in the Juvenile Dependency division. Our sincere condolences to Judge Orlando and his family.

Twenty-five years ago, Broward County’s Misdemeanor Mental Health Court became a reality! Judge Ginger Lerner-Wren, who presides over the division, will be presenting a look back on the growth of the program over its 25 years at the United Way of Broward County’s Annual Behavioral Health Conference next week, June 8th.
